In a sophisticated dispute concerning methods for predicting breast cancer recurrence, the Barcelona Court of Appeal (Section 15) rejects infringement. In doing so, it holds a narrow view on method claims "comprising" several steps, when the alleged infringer adds further elements or steps to the method. It remains to be seen if and how this precedent might be applied to future cases.
