IT team Unified Patent Court calls for input on integration users’ systems with CMS of court
July 19, 2017
The UPC IT team has called on business and service providers to provide information about how they want to integrate their systems with the case management system (CMS) of the UPC, and what services they plan to provide their clients.
‘As an initial step the team would like to hear from those whose responsibility it is to make current systems compatible with the UPC case management system.’ They are kindly invited to email the UPC secretariat by 20 August 2017. ‘The team will assess the responses and publish the policy including categories of service and eligibility criteria (if any are needed). (...) The policy will be published after the 10 September 2017.’
Last week, the UPC’s IT Team announced that the case management system would be ready ‘as of August 2017 and until the opening of the Court’, and tailored to prepare for the so-called sunrise period, in which patents can be opted out from the jurisdiction of the UPC.
This ‘major milestone’ was achieved after gathering ‘feedback from attorneys, lawyers and judges by means of more than 25 interactive workshops across Europe.’ The IT team promised ‘there will be a platform of stability for the coming months’.
